All’s fair in love and war. As a writer and wordsmith, I am loathe to use cliches, but sometimes there is simply no better way to get your point across than by using a trite turn of phrase that people often use without truly knowing what it means. Well the meaning is quite simple when you break it down. Since the topic of my diatribe today focuses on a cold war of sorts within our country, I will leave the love to the foolhardy romantics of the world. For my purposes, this cliche simply states that in times of war there are no rules. When the lives, limbs, and liberty of you and your loved ones are at stake, decorum and integrity need not show their faces.
Within the United States, our citizens are currently engulfed in an ideological war. The seeds of this war were sown meticulously, comprehensively, and deliberately. I will not dive deeply into the origins of this war. I leave that to posterity, as I fear this cold war will escalate into a full-fledged violent war. Books and dissertations will chronicle what we are experiencing now.
Over the last 20 years, the leftists have been launching an escalated assault against conservatives. It was small and semi-covert at first. Little lies and manipulation of truth. How did conservatives respond? We took the high road. We kept our integrity. We did not sling mud back. We let it go by unanswered. What was the result? Two abysmal failures of presidential candidates—McCain and Romney.
Since 2016, the lies, smears, slander, and libel have become relentless bombings in hopes to defame and denigrate anyone who stands in the way of their Marxist agenda. These tactics are no longer relegated to the radical extreme of one side of the political aisle. The mainstream of the Democratic party has embraced and encouraged vile rhetoric, unrest, and a dismantling of our country’s foundations. Maxine Waters told a crowd of people to make a scene at the sight of a Republican in a restaurant or store. Kamala Harris, the Squad, and others encouraged riots, looting, and the destruction of people’s property in the name of social justice. A large faction of our citizenry claim that “All Cops Are Bastards”. Conservatives are automatically guilty of every discrimination in existence plus some that have been pulled from the recesses of the bowels of the progressive beast simply for asking questions or wanting data.
I say all of this to impress upon you the gravity of the situation we are in. This is war, and the left has committed ideological war crimes. In reaction to the all out assault on the character, morals, and ideals of conservative Americans, a faction of Republicans has emerged who hold no punches, who give back what is given, who have launched a defensive strike against the left’s rhetoric—people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Madison Cawthorn, and even former President Donald Trump.
One issue that is at the core of the conservative ideology is the family and the rearing of children. As controversies in education have surfaced, it is no shock that indoctrination of children has risen to the top of the concerns on the right. Recently, many conservative voices have spoken out about those who insist that young children need to be taught about sex, sexuality, and gender ideology calling them “groomers”. Ketanji Brown Jackson has been scrutinized for her lenient sentencing of people in possession of child pornography, and senators who voted to confirm her were labeled as “pro-pedophile”.
Of course, there was dismissive and scandalized pearl-clutching on the hypocritical left. However, there has been much condemnation from self-professed conservatives as well. Brad Polumbo tweeted, “I’m never going to be okay with mistreating and slandering people just because the Left does it.” Similarly, on their podcast, David French and Jonah Goldberg labeled the questioning of Judge Jackson’s sentencing as “smear” and the right’s use of “pro-pedophile” as “smear-squared”. Let us not forget what happened with Justice Kavanaugh. When he was confirmed the left called those who voted to confirm him “rape apologists”. Seeing as his legacy is forever tainted by the malicious words of the left, this is simply a retaliatory wartime tactic. One rhetorical bombing commands another in response.
Brad Polumbo, David French, Jonah Goldberg, and any other conservative imposters do not understand the ideological war in which we are engaged. The welfare of our republic, everything that our ancestors built and died for lies in the balance. Taking the high road and turning the other cheek are now acts of submission and surrender. We have to fight back and fight back dirty if necessary. Conservatives who condemn those efforts are not our allies, and if they are not our allies, they are our enemies. As lovers of our nation, true conservatives have declared war on those enemies. May God have mercy on their souls, because the patriots of the United States of America will not.
[…] Saul Alinksy’s Rules for Radicals has long been condemned by conservatives as forbidden reading because it is associated with and used by radicals on the left. In essence it is a how-to manual with lessons on being as obnoxious and annoying as possible while not breaking any laws in hopes of having your voice heard or enacting change. Unfortunately, for us conservatives, these tactics have proven successful for the progressives, and they have helped fuel the fire of this ideological war that I referenced in my previous post. […]
