If you ask people who the darlings of the left currently are, I am willing to bet a large majority of them would include AOC in their list. Like her, or not, you must admit she has been an effective voice and poster-child for the progressive movement in this country. First of all, she’s a young and beautiful woman. And just like any hypocritical feminist, she uses that to her advantage. Second, she has a clear message that she does not often deviate from. Her Green New Deal is her wet-dream wishlist, and all of the components therein fuel her passion and talking-points. Third, she knows how to use social media wisely. AOC’s target demographic is the most liberal and progressive generation in American history, the millenial. AOC panders to them with her masterful use of Twitter and Instagram–as far as I know she doesn’t use Facebook so much as it is a Boomer site now…

With the disappearance (or recharging in the wings) of Trump from the political stage, the right has lost their standout mouthpiece. However, one person new to politics has begun to pop-up in my eyesight quite a bit lately. Freshman Representative Lauren Boebert from Colorado seems to be stepping her game up. Could she be the right’s version of an AOC?

Young and beautiful?… I mean I’m gay, but I wouldn’t kick her out of bed… so CHECK.

Clear message?… She talks passionately and articulately about some of the major issues that almost all conservatives agree on: 2nd amendment and immigration. She doesn’t take on social issues on which opinions have changed from generation to generation. As long as she continues to stay in those lanes and make those HER issues and talking-points, I say CHECK.

Wise use of social media?… So far, in looking at her Instagram and Twitter accounts, I think she’s doing a good job, but there’s a caveat here. AOC can and does post Instagram Live videos where she is spouting off. She has been caught lying and/or exaggerating several times–let’s not forget the misinformation she gave about her location during the January 6th riot. However, AOC gets away with it because the she is a media-darling and progressive Democrat. The media is constantly looking for ways to crucify those on the right who are making themselves heard. And they will look at and spin anything to make someone look bad. Boebert will have to play this smartly especially if she, as I suspect she will, starts to gain notoriety. Unfortunately, with the Democrats and the media monster that any conservative has to play against, eventually she will lose. But if she plays her cards right, she could do some real good for the Republican party, especially in Colorado and in the younger generations.
