You haven’t seen or heard very much from Joe Biden, and his team and supporters in the Corporate Media want you to believe he’s just working so hard.
Part of this presidential theatre includes being in front of the media, like a pop star doing a photo call.
As part of this media blitz, Somehow-President Biden hosted a virtual roundtable with members of Congress to discuss a Very Large Spending Bill, which may (or increasingly may not) include a $2000 $1400 check just for you, citizen.
While that all seems like a Mad Libs (as anything government-related does) the best part was surprisingly NOT that Shh Just Tell Him He’s President Biden was beamed in like Battlestar Galactica – it came after the prepared remarks.
“I’d be happy to take questions if that’s what I’m supposed to do, Nance,” President Biden said, referring to Speaker Pelosi.
“Whatever you want me to do.”
And after a few awkward and wooden moments of staring at the camera, the feed was abruptly ended.
Normally this would be a typical goofy moment that would become standard late night show fodder, but it’s no longer the 90s despite what our reboot culture would like you to believe.
Biden has avoided questions time and time again, and as The National File points out, he’s unlikely to hold a press conference soon/ever.
Remember when Trump was excoriated for not hosting a press conference, with the press calling him lazy and bored?
And then that was followed up by him hosting long, live AMAs which the press somehow hated even more?
In Biden’s absence, we’ve seen Vice President Kamala step forward, taking calls from world leaders and otherwise running the show.
Unfortunately, like any celebrity with terrified handlers, we’re probably a few months away from the exhaustion excuse.
